Today I slept in until 11 for one of the rarer times on my summer break, which is actually a surprise considering I sleep in past 11 on many occasions during school. Kevin slept again at his mother’s home and Jed slept inside his parents’ home again. Despite their open invitation, Branic and I still chose to sleep inside the RV where we had spent the last 27 nights in. It has become where we don’t want to sleep away from our beds in the RV anymore.

Branic and I got up around the same time and we went straight in the house and started working. It wasn’t to our surprise to see Jed already wake and working away on editing video and updating the website. Branic sat down and edited while I typed away. Kevin soon arrived to find out the schedule for the day and after helping us out for a little while, he went out again to spend as much time as he could with his mom. I decided to go get a haircut and when I finished, the three of us, Jed’s parents, and Liz, a family friend, went out to eat at a Chinese Restaurant. Stuffed, Jed, Branic and I went to enjoy the Strip when it finally became dark.

We parked at Treasure Island and arrived just in time for their free 10:00 show outside of the hotel, Sirens of TI. Jed, having seen this show before, was shocked to see how much Las Vegas has changed, seeming as if it prides itself on its’ Sin City label. Once a show about a fierce pirate battle, the show has changed to become a story where 15 pirates become seduced by 15 sexy women, the Sirens of TI. Naturally, the Sirens were scantily clad and did a lot of dancing, but the choreography and creativity of the show alongside with its special effects sure made the show an exciting one to watch. We then walked through the Mirage to see their indoor rainforest, and stopped off at the white tiger exhibition since Branic loves nothing more than his mother and tigers. With a huge grin that wouldn’t wash away, Branic spent 20 minutes with his face glued to the glass watching the single tiger in the mini-habitat sleep. Afterwards we watched the water show outside the Bellagio, which was beautiful and mesmerizing and then stopped off at Ghiradelli’s for some of the better milkshakes we have ever had. By then, we were pretty tired from a long day of staring at our laptops working, so we decided to head back and get a good rest.

When we woke up in the morning, we tried to take advantage of the high speed internet at Jed’s parents’ home as much as we could, so we worked our butts off the entire day before we needed to start for San Diego, where the Pacific Coast Deaf Bowling Association bowling tournament would be held. The drive is just a six hour one, so we left Las Vegas at 5:30 with the website freshly updated. Our drive to San Diego was surprisingly uneventful, as we didn’t miss any exits or even see anything out of the ordinary on the way. We stopped at the San Diego KOA campground just eight miles from the Mexican border and went straight to sleep.

Tomorrow we plan to meet with Joe Dannis, an extremely successful Deaf business man who is the founder and CEO of DawnSignPress, something we are all looking forward to!
