The PCDBA bowling tournament officially starts today, and since Jed is not planning on bowling in the singles and doubles tournament, we are stayed at the KOA campground to swim and take advantage of the Wi-Fi internet accessibility. It was a long day of writing articles and editing video for all of us, and later tonight we went to the PCDBA general meeting where by-laws are changed, officers elected, and other PCDBA business is conducted.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived that there were many bowlers who sat up in front and taking the meeting very serious. They paid attention to every word, and took everything said to heart. The rules are very hard to change, explained Jed, who has been to his share of annual meetings. The old-timers of the association who have been around for many years value the tradition and stability of the rules. They argue every little point as if it would change the face of the world and their opinions are very highly respected. We also went next door to the PCDWBA general meeting and watched the re-elect their treasurer. This year is the first time that the men’s and women’s tournaments share the same house because there are an adequate number of lanes at the bowling alley. People hope that this merger will have positive results and will generate more fans.
