Day 33

We again woke up at an unholy hour, getting up at 5:30 and getting ready for another day at the bowling alley. Since Branic and I had no valid reason for being awake so early as opposed to Jed and Kevin who both needed to bowl, we slept comfortably in our beds in the parking lot as soon as we pulled in. Today would be a full day of bowling for Jed, as he needed to bowl three games for the doubles tournament, three games for the individual handicap tournament, and up to sixteen games for the Masters scratch tournament, depending on how far he advanced.
Branic and I awoke at noon, almost getting a full eight hours of sleep since we had stayed up so late in Tijuana last night spending an infinity waiting at the border to get back in America. We woke up to find that Jed had not bowled so well in the singles and doubles, preferring to conserve his energy for the afternoon Masters. Kevin, on the other hand, went on a tear doing much better than he had in the team competition yesterday. He bowled a 717 series with a best of 212, finishing 10th out of more than 150 bowlers. Kevin was thrilled to find out that he would win $160 after not bowling for more than 10 years and many people were shocked to see somebody wearing house shoes and borrowing someone’s ball bowl better than 140 other bowlers.
