After parting ways with those at the Rochester School for the Deaf, we headed over to NTID/RIT to witness a photo shoot!

Students posing with their flags. Doesn't this photograph make you feel patriotic?
NTID, well-known for its’ diverse d/Deaf and Hard-of-hearing student body, also boasts students from each state in the country. Photographing with them was Dr. T. Alan Hurwitz, President of NTID/Vice-President and Dean of RIT, and Dr. William Destler, RIT’s President. After a half-hour long shoot, the students went outside with their respective state flags – along with Dr. Hurwitz himself – to take a few pictures in front of the DeafNation RV!
As a recent graduate from the Institute, it was a particularly heart-warming moment for me – and even more so when Dr. Hurwitz motioned to me, asking if I wanted to help hold up the orange and brown RIT flag with him. My reply? “Do I ever!”

Students showing their state pride!
Tiger pride surged through me as Erica snapped pictures. Even though I had graduated and left, I was clearly not forgotten. When Erica was done, I enveloped Dr. Hurwitz in a hug after the photo shoot, leaving him with promises that the DeafNation crew would stop by his office tomorrow after our tour of the campus.

Dr. Hurwitz and recent NTID/RIT graduate Michelle Gerson hug!
