Virginia Moore, the Executive Director of Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, talks with Joel Barish about how the agency came to have a strong standing in the state government. She said lobbying is the answer, but the state agencies do not usually have the power to lobby, so the system needs to be restructured in order to move the agency up and closer to the state government office. Also, they discuss the pros and cons of technology have on Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities. Lastly, Virginia offers good advice that begins with the question, “Where is the Deaf people?” (captioned)
